First Night
First Night, as always, will take place on December 31st. This is the clubs way of giving back to the community by putting on a spectacular show. This year’s theme is “The Season’s of Love”. This is always a fun event for skaters to show off their stuff!!! All are invited to participate! Please let your coach know if you are interested in performing in a solo or group event! A sign up sheet is on The Colonial Skating Club’s bulletin board, which hangs in the lobby outside of Rink A.
Following the skating show, Colonial Skating Club will host a dinner for current and past members and friends.

Volunteers Needed
Quickly approaching is our 10th Annual Stars and Stripes Competition. Our competitions in the past have been such a huge success because of the volunteers that gave their time to the event. This year’s competition is scheduled for April 14th and 15th. If you are interested in volunteering please contact Lori Zimmerman.

Club meetings:
Club meetings are open to all club members. Any member interested in attending the board meetings is welcome.

Our next scheduled meeting is Thursday, November 9th, 2006 at 6:00 pm. Meetings are held at Grundy Recreation Center, 475 Beaver St., Bristol, PA 19007.

If any full member has an issue that they would like discussed please email or call Kathy Campion approximately 3 days before the scheduled meeting so the topic can be put into the agenda.

Competition Checklist
Going to a competition??? Don't forget the following:
• Your skates (BOTH of them!)
• Your dress / tights (or pants and shirt if male)
• A spare set of tights
• Extra scrunchies, bobbie pins, etc
• Any makeup you will require
• Comb, brush, hairspray
• Sweater or warm-up jacket
• Your tape (labeled, rewound, and tested)
• A backup tape (labeled, rewound, and tested)
• Guards and soakers
• Your "emergency bag" (this should contain spare screws for your blades, a screwdriver, spare laces, band-aids, aspirin, etc)
• Inhaler (if needed)
• Your USFSA number
• Know your event number and time
• Directions to the rink
• Your video tape, and money to pay for taping (if desired) (tape should be cued to end)
• Black electrical tape (cover the flash bulb on your camera, if you can't turn it off...)
